Job description

Driving and executing simple logistics and administrative tasks.

Key tasks include, but are not limited to:

As a driver you are expected to:

  • Driving members of staff and delegations to various meeting inside and outside of Tokyo
  • Picking up and depositing letters, parcels, documents, … at various locations and from various contacts in Tokyo
  • Examining, planning and establishing a driving plan, taking into account different parameters (traffic, safety, weather, timing, …)
  • Planning the maintenance and repairs of the Embassy’s cars
  • Administrative tasks related to the cars (insurance, …)
  • Other car related tasks

As a logistics assistant you are expected to:

  • Help with incoming and outgoing mail, office supplies, …
  • Follow up on simple administrative procedures with Japanese authorities,….
  • Assist with the logistical organization of official visits and events hosted by the Embassy

Requirements

  • Driving license with minimum 2 years driving experience
  • Flexibility, able to stay calm in stressful circumstances and ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Language skills:
    • Japanese: good oral and written skills
    • English: basic working proficiency
    • Knowledge of French and/or Dutch a plus, but not essential
  • Basic computer proficiency (windows, word, excel, teams, …)
  • Experience in a similar position is a plus

Conditions

  • Fixed-term contract for 1 year, renewable to an indefinite-term contract, with a trial period of 3 months
  • Working hours: 40 hours / week, expected to be available for overtime outside of office hours
  • Advantages:
    • Competitive salary: minimum gross salary 387 000 JPY/month, bonus, public transport refund, medical check-up, health/pension insurance, 25 days of paid annual leave

Application procedure

  • Selection procedure includes first a screening based on CV, followed by a written and oral test to assess their skills, motivation and language competences, and if selected a driving test.
