160 Years of Friendship between Japan and Belgium
In 2026, Japan and Belgium will celebrate 160 years of diplomatic relations and friendship. In the run-up to this year of friendship, a public competition is being held to select the official anniversary logo. The competition is open to any resident of Japan or Belgium, as well as to all holders of Japanese or Belgian citizenship. The deadline for entries is 28 February 2025.
Japan and Belgium established diplomatic relations in 1866, with the signature of their first Treaty of Amity, Commerce and Navigation. In 2026, the year of the 160th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, we hope to further strengthen bilateral relations by organizing and supporting various events to deepen exchanges and mutual understanding between the people of the two countries.
With this in mind, Belgium and Japan are launching a public competition to select the official logo of the anniversary, which will be used in communication regarding all the activities associated to the anniversary throughout 2026.
The competition is open to all Japanese and Belgian nationals, as well as to anyone residing in Japan or Belgium at the time of the competition, irrespective of citizenship. The deadline for competition entries is 28 February 2025. The competition winners will be notified of the results around April 2025. The main winner will be awarded a return flight Tokyo-Brussels, offered by the Belgian Federal Public Service of Foreign Affairs and ANA.
Residents of Belgium and Belgian citizens residing outside Japan should submit their entries to the Embassy of Japan in Belgium. Residents of Japan and Japanese citizens residing outside Belgium should submit their entries to the Embassy of Belgium in Japan.

2026年「日本・ベルギー友好160周年」のロゴ募集
日本とベルギーは1866年に修好通商航海条約を締結し、国交を樹立しました。両国は、この記念すべき年を盛大に祝うべく、周年事業を実施し、各種交流事業を通じて、より一層、友好関係を深め、文化交流を強化することとしました。
そこで両国は、2026年の「日本・ベルギー友好160周年」関連交流行事実施の際に使用する、公式ロゴの公募を以下の要領で実施しますので、奮って御応募ください。
応募資格
日本又はベルギー国籍の方、あるいは国籍にかかわらず応募時に日本またはベルギーに居住されている方

在ベルギー日本大使館（対象者：ベルギー居住者、日本以外に在住するベルギー国籍の方）
在京ベルギー大使館（対象者：日本居住者、ベルギー以外に在住する日本国籍の方）
応募作品が採用された方には、ベルギー政府機関と全日本空輸株式会社（ANA）より東京・ブリュッセル間の往復航空券が贈られます。
